Tribute Night: Bob Marley

Price:
No admission charge, but donations will be collected - suggested £5 minimum

The Tribute Train pulls into this year’s autumn stop to pay homage to reggae’s most iconic figure and Jamaica’s first international superstar.

Bob Marley not only promoted the music of his native island nation around the world, but was also a rigorous advocate for social justice.  He highlighted the plight of the impoverished, called out the oppressors and agitated for social change, while simultaneously encouraging listeners to forget their woes and just dance.  His deftly crafted songs were vignettes of daily struggle, devout spirituality and empowered revolution, as well as being unfeasibly groovy.

If you would like to perform a Bob Marley song at this night, please send an email to TributeNight@hotmail.co.uk.

There is no admission fee as such, but donations will be collected during the interval, so please keep some money aside.  Suggested donation £5.  All donations go to the Rising Sun.

Doors open at 8pm for a prompt 8:30pm start.

Location:
Main Hall
Date(s):
Fri 3 Nov, 8:00pm to 11:00pm
